Problems faced by Researcher and Android & cloud computing

First session was hanled by Mr. P. Sampaul on the topic "Problems faced by Researcher".

Second session was handled by Ms. Srividhya on the topic  "Android and Cloud Computing"

The Line and Search Engine

Mrs. S. Kavunthi, Assistant Professor, Department of Maths, handled a session on "The Line".

Ms. S. Anitha, Assistant Professor, Department of Commerce with CA, handled a session on the topic "Search Engine", highlighting the use of various search engine in research.

Learning and Teaching Techniques and ஆய்வு நெறிகள்

Dr. Shantha Kumari, Assitant Professor, Department of Commerce handled a session on "Learning and Teaching Techniques".

Some of the teaching techniques to engage the students and some practices to handle the class interestingly.

Second session of the day was handled by Dr. R. Sankar on the topic "ஆய்வு நெறிகள்".

 

Contemporary Teaching

           Our Principal Dr. R. K. Vaithiyanathan handed 2 sessions on contemporary teaching on 04.07.13 and 11.07.13.

 

He emphasized the importance of time, core values, empathy and excellence in performance. He encouraged the faculty members to do home work for effective classroom teaching. Review and overview are the finest techniques in academic development. Self learning and self updation is equally important for teachers and they should also try to help each other. 

How to do Research & skills about Research Planning

Ms. B. Chitra, Assistant Professor, Department of Computer Applications and Technology handed a session on 07.03.13.
Her speech was about how to plan and successfully complete a research work.

Intercollegiate research Meet '13

Topic : Solar Energy- Alternate Energy
Resource Person : Dr. R. Nithya (Biosciences)

The topic was informative, informing that there are many natural energy resources man can use of without depleting the natural resources.

Faculty Development Programme

SNMV FDP Team members went to SACOn on Feb 16, 2013 organized by Megalatha mam (MIB) with Francis Xavier

We started from Gandhipuram and reached SACON by morning. We had activities which made us to realize that

• Everyone has different way of thinking,
• Patience is important,
• Team work, communication and Coordination is very important,
• The way we get tempted and because of which we do some errors even when the problem is small and simple,
• Motivation is very important and 
• Time Management

We had trekking too, where Francis Xavier who guided us gave us important tips of what we should do and we shouldn't if lost in a forest. And most importantly small things that we should obsere while walking
Dr. Pramod (Senior Scientist, SACON) gave us some of the success stories which made us to realize how much a teacher plays a role in a student's life. He also gave us an view of how our brain forgets things and remember things by imagination.
We left SACON back to Gandhipuram by evening.

It was a memorable day, as it was not learning new things but, recalling the forgotten things. And age doesnt matter its how we feel makes the difference.

Documentation of thesis was explained well. It was informative for faculties who are doing / planning to do  their doctoral work, and also for the research scholars.
